Privacy Policy
Tarotena is a free, sign-up-free tarot site. We try to collect as little about you as possible. This page explains what that means in practice.
The short version
We do not require an account, do not ask for your email, and do not save your readings. The only data that touches our servers is the basic information your browser sends with any web request, plus anonymous traffic statistics so we can see which pages people use.
What we collect
When you visit Tarotena, our hosting provider's standard logs may briefly record:
- Your IP address (used to serve the page and protect against abuse).
- The page you requested and the time of the request.
- Your browser type, operating system, and referring page.
We may also use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views, see which spreads and cards are most popular, and understand whether the site is working on different devices. Where possible we use analytics that do not set tracking cookies and do not identify individual visitors.
What we don't collect
- We don't ask for your name, email, or any other personal information.
- We don't save the cards you draw or the readings you receive.
- We don't sell your data — we have nothing to sell.
- We don't profile you or build advertising audiences.
Cookies and local storage
Tarotena does not use tracking cookies. The site may use your browser's local storage to remember small preferences (for example, sound on or off) so they persist between visits. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Third-party services
Tarotena loads its display fonts from Google Fonts. Google may log the IP address of visitors who load these fonts. You can read more in Google's Privacy Policy.
If we add other third-party services in the future (such as embedded videos or a feedback widget), we'll list them here.
Children's privacy
Tarotena is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Because we don't keep accounts or personal records, there is generally nothing for us to delete or export on your behalf. If you have a specific privacy question, you can always contact us using the email below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
